Attorney Arik Mugerman (24) is a member of the Kiryat Motzkin City Council, holding the portfolio for Youth and Welfare. In the 2024 local elections, he was elected to the city council at just 22 years old, making him the youngest elected city council member in Israel. He serves in a fully voluntary capacity.
Arik was born and raised in Kiryat Motzkin, where he also attended high school. During his mandatory military service, he served as an officer and military prosecutor in the IDF Military Advocate General's Corps.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Tel Aviv University and an MBA in Global Management and Business Consulting, also from Tel Aviv University. He is certified in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution by Harvard University and is licensed as a mediator by the Israeli Bar Association. During his studies, he served as VP of Internal Affairs and spokesperson of the Law Students Council.
In addition to his public role, Arik practices law specializing in civil litigation, and volunteers with the National Council for the Child — assisting child victims of crime throughout the criminal legal process.
Arik has held a number of senior positions: Advisor to the Minister of Tourism, Head of Public Relations in the Ministry of Tourism's Communications Division, and Project Manager at the World Zionist Organization (WZO).
He co-founded "Motzkin HaChodesh", a free local newspaper distributed to tens of thousands of residents every month.
Arik founded the Youth Volunteer Network in Kiryat Motzkin — the largest of its kind in Israel. Together with teenagers and young adults from the region, the network assists elderly residents, young families, soldiers, and the community at large, focusing on areas where local government cannot intervene directly.
